Joe Baltich - Minnesota Artist

Joe Baltich is an artist born and raised in northeastern Minnesota.  He literally grew up on a small family, summer vacation resort deep in the woods on a  pretty lake called Jasper.  Along with many wilderness and business skills acquired in resort life, Joe also learned how to paint after a chance meeting with an artist who was staying at Northwind Lodge.  After 10 years painting as a commissioned artist in his youth, he took a 32 year hiatus from painting, and re-entered the art world of in 2015, Joe has returned as a seasoned artist.  Producing all nature of visual, 2D art, Joe brings to his work, a lifetime of wilderness work and play.  He also ventures into the abstract and contemporary with great joy.

"It's really nice to let the simple act of putting paint on canvas replace the digital world of filters, palettes, and fonts", said Joe.  "Computers are neat, but they will never outlast real, painted art as has been proven by works of the masters."

Joe has gained significant ground in the world of public art.  In addition to regular commissioned works,  he adds to his current permanent projects the Chisholm Public Library in Chisholm, MN.  This is a major project to beautify and enhance the historic Chisholm Public Library with a legacy grant from the Arrowhead Library System.  The project of  six, large canvases representing a broad range of his work,  was completed in April 2019.  It is open weekdays for public viewing.

Joe will has also had his art accepted to hang in the Congressional Office of his Congressman, Pete Stauber of the Minnesota's 8th Congressional District.   Two Joe Baltich paintings hang "on loan" in Washington D.C.
